"If these chairs could talk - honoring the stories of heritage furniture in upholstery."

Join one of our co-owners of Upholstery Education, Justin Dazey, for a conversation about the importance of honoring the furniture's history during the re-upholstery and design process.

About the Speaker:

Justin Dazey is the owner of Foxglove Artisan LLC. and Castillo’s Custom Upholstery on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle, Washington. Justin has a BA in Interior Design from Washington State University and over 30 years of experience in the antiques, interiors, and furniture world.

Recently, Justin partnered with Marta Powers and Mandy Szigethy to acquire Upholstery Education LLC. This organization offers top-notch traditional upholstery training in the United States, ensuring the art of traditional craftsmanship is passed down to the next generation of craftspeople.

Justin is a collector who enjoys gathering historical items, chairs, and curiosities. He believes that every piece has its own story to tell and loves restoring old items to their former glory through careful and historically accurate methods. Sharing his insights and pursuing knowledge to honor the traditions of craftsmanship and furniture making are among his greatest passions.
